Alex Wilkins Gallery

Alex was a very popular professional photographer in the town of Warrnambool for over fifty years. There would be thousands of photographs taken by him spread in homes throughout the Western District, these consisted of weddings debutante balls, commercial, portraits etc .However there are a few photographs that still exist showing a more creative side or documenting how Warrnambool appeared in the 1940s and onwards. His personal still images were mainly taken with colour slides documenting the many places he loved to visit, plus the family and friends he socialised with.

Alex took movies and aerial still photographs of Warrnambool and district .The most published image was of Tower Hill when it was treeless and drought effected. A number of environmental reports have used this historical and important photograph.
